Lorraine Stephenson Counselling
BACP registered counsellor

I am a fully qualified counsellor and registered member of the BACP. I have extensive experience working with both adults and young people (11-18) in both the public and private sector. Alongside my professional training, I bring a wealth of life experience, which helps me connect with people from all walks of life in a genuine and understanding way.
My approach is caring and compassionate, providing a safe space where you can talk openly and feel supported. Together we can explore what you are going through at your own pace and, if helpful, I can share evidence based strategies to support your well being.
Sessions are available face-to-face in West Bridgford and central Nottingham, as well as online or by telephone, offering flexibility to suit your needs.
Counselling for Adults
I offer counselling for adults experiencing grief and loss; relationship difficulties; anxiety and stress or persistent low mood. Life can be tough and while we often mostly cope, sometimes we need some extra support. I offer a calm space where you can work out what is going on for you. As a person-centred counsellor, I believe you are the expert in your life and know what is best for you even though at this moment you may have lost sight of that. My job is to help you rediscover your sense of self which may currently be buried under life’s noise. I can support you to do that at your pace, using evidence-based strategies and techniques where they may be helpful to you.
Sessions are available face-to-face in West Bridgford and central Nottingham, as well as online or by telephone, offering flexibility to suit your needs.

Counselling for young people
I provide counselling for children and young people in a warm, supportive environment where they can feel understood and accepted. With over 20 years experience working in education, I have supported young people with ADHD, autism, school phobia and refusal, anxiety, and identity issues. My approach is compassionate and flexible, helping each child explore their feelings in a way that suits them. Together, we can build confidence, develop coping strategies, and find positive ways forward. Sessions are available face-to-face in West Bridgford and central Nottingham, as well as online or by telephone.
